We are now looking for a Field Service Engineer – 4 Stroke to join our team working for a better future.

 

 

What you will be doing?

 

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for executing a variety of field service activities on Wärtsilä engines, ensuring that maintenance, overhauls, troubleshooting, and reporting are performed in accordance with our technical and safety standards. In this role, you will interact directly with customers, represent Wärtsilä on site, and ensure highquality service delivery while working in diverse and dynamic environments.

 

 

As a Field Service Engineer, you will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Perform field service activities according to the work plan on Wärtsilä engines.
  • Carry out engine overhauls, routine maintenance, and repair tasks.
  • Perform troubleshooting and apply practical problemsolving skills.
  • Interact professionally with customers during the execution of work.
  • Provide progress reporting, both internally and externally, for assigned tasks.
  • Create and maintain accurate Service Work Reports.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Wärtsilä QEHS and QSHE guidelines, site procedures, and policies.
  • Follow up and report on work order status to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Travel extensively to support customer needs—expect a commitment of 7–8 months per year of global travel.

  • Relevant technical education or a combination of education and experience.
  • Technical experience in marine engineering with handson mechanical skills.
  • Experience in engine installation, operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability and willingness to travel fulltime globally.
  • Awareness of auxiliary systems.
  • Strong technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Professional interaction with customers during work execution.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Fluency in English.

Travel Requirements:

 

This position requires a 75% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international locations, including onshore and offshore sites. The role demands adaptability to varying travel requirements, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location. Prospective candidates should be prepared to fulfill these travel obligations as an integral aspect of the position's responsibilities.
