Field Service Operations Intern (Summer 2026)

Wartsila is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Service Operations Intern to support our Field Service Operations teams. This internship offers hands-on experience in operational coordination, resource management, and planning activities that ensure efficient delivery of field services across the region.
This position follows a hybrid work schedule three times per week in the office.
Responsibilities
Operational Support:
- Assist in tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) for field service activities.
- Support daily operational tasks, including scheduling, work order management, and documentation.
- Join internal and external meetings to understand service delivery processes and customer expectations.
Resource Coordination:
- Help maintain accurate resource allocation data for technicians and equipment.
- Assist in onboarding processes and training coordination for field service personnel.
Planning & Analysis:
- Contribute to forecasting and capacity planning activities.
- Support data analysis for resource utilization and operational efficiency improvements.
- Support in the preparation of operational reports and dashboards for management review.
Process Improvement:
- Participate in identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance service delivery.
- Assist in implementing digital tools and dashboards for better visibility and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. Ideal candidates are in their sophomore or junior year (2nd or 3rd year).
- Interest in renewable energy or completion of coursework in energy-related fields.
- Active participation in extracurricular activities or relevant projects
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with ERP or scheduling tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel for up to 15% of the time.
Duration:
This is a full-time paid internship position for a duration of 3 months during the summer of 2026.
Measurable Goals & KPIs
- Data Accuracy: Maintain 98% accuracy in resource allocation and scheduling data.
- Reporting Timeliness: Deliver weekly KPI reports within agreed timelines (100% compliance).
- Process Improvement Contribution: Identify at least 1 workflow improvement opportunity during the internship.
- Engagement: Complete all assigned tasks with all deliverables on time.
