Field Service Super Intendent

What You Will Be Doing

You will oversee and coordinate field service resources and activities at customer sites, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with quality and safety standards, and strong customer satisfaction.
In this role, you act as the leading technical expert in the field, supervise service execution, and serve as the primary customer interface. You will also coordinate communication between field operations and internal teams while supporting continuous improvement across the service organization.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and supervise field service projects, including activity planning, resource allocation, and scheduling to meet customer requirements.Conduct field audits to assess service capabilities, ensuring alignment with plans, quality expectations, and customer needs.Provide expert technical guidance to field service teams, ensuring compliance with standards, processes, and safety requirements.Mentor and develop field service personnel to support growth, capability expansion, and operational excellence.Maintain proactive communication between field locations and internal stakeholders to support efficient coordination and decision-making.Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring needs are identified, addressed, and resolved while fostering long-term relationships.Support continuous improvement initiatives and capture lessons learned to enhance future field service operations.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and complete all required administrative and reporting tasks. 

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Experience:Significant experience in field service operations within power generation, mechanical systems, or reciprocating engines.Experience supervising or leading technical teams in the field.

Skills:Strong technical expertise in mechanical and reciprocating engine systems.Ability to coordinate multi-resource field activities and manage customer-facing operations.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to conduct field audits and interpret technical and operational data.

Other Requirements: Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.Strong focus on safety and compliance. 

Preferred Qualifications 

Experience with Wärtsilä engine platforms or similar energy-sector technologies.Prior experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.Training or certification in field service management, quality systems, or safety compliance.Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.Experience working in cross-cultural or global service environments. 

Travel Requirements In this role, some domestic and international travel is required. While many interactions can be handled remotely, expect to travel approximately 80% of the time depending on project needs.
