We are looking for a General Manager, ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Area Americas, who will be responsible for ensuring the performance of IT services to businesses and end-users in the region. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.  

 

Location: We have a strong preference for candidates based in Houston, TX or Fort Lauderdale, FL, but we are also open to applicants located in Melbourne, FL or Herndon, VA. This role follows a hybrid work schedule, offering a balance of remote and on-site work. 

 

Your role and responsibilities   

  • As a General Manager, ICT Area Americas, your work will include, for example: 
  • Ensuring consistent, high quality and cost-optimised delivery of IT services  
  • Securing the operations of all local IT infrastructure across multiple locations 
  • Leading and developing a team of approximately 10 IM coordinators 
  • Managing local business stakeholders with their local IT needs 
  • Manage relationships with external consultants 
  • Giving support to countries without nominated IM coordinator   
  • Gather feedback and drive changes in global services when needed 
  • Implementing IM strategy in Americas and build a new technical roadmap for legacy tools 
  • Driving the end-user-centric transformation by leading selected local and global projects in ICT Services, managing a backlog of ~200 annual projects.

 

You’ll be a member of the Business Applications and ICT Services management team, and report to Director, ICT and Business Productivity Services. You will work closely with global service teams and other Area IM colleagues. Your key stakeholders include local business leaders, global and local service delivery vendors, IM business partners and other IM organisations. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Ideally 15+ years of progressive experience in ICT roles, with a strong track record of delivering IT services in complex, multi-location environments 
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience, including leading geographically distributed teams and external partners 
  • Wide knowledge of IT service portfolio and IM strategy 
  • Strong focus on end-user needs and delivering business value 
  • Experience in leading and implementing end-user IT services 
  • Ability to implement global services and processes in a complex environment 
  • Proven track record in driving change 
  • Ability to challenge vendors and current ways of working 
  • Experience working in a multinational or matrix organisation 
  • Fluency in English is required 
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20% of the time, both domestically and internationally 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Certifications: PMP and ITIL 
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese
