Wärtsilä North America is seeking an experienced HR Mobility Specialist to join our team. If you want to join a global organization with opportunities for continued development, this may be your role.

 

As the HR Mobility Specialist, you will deliver operational excellence to the HR People Services team to create, maintain, and communicate HR Mobility policies and procedures and manage the end-to-end process in close partnership with HR, vendors, and stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team of HR professionals. In partnership with your colleagues, you'll engage directly with our clients, vendors, and businesses daily, ensuring the seamless execution of Mobility processes, procedures and policies for North America. Together with your colleagues, you will also have opportunities to lead the development and improvement of current mobility technologies, policies, and end-to-end processes.  

 

This position is hybrid, reports to the Head of People Services, North America, and can be based in either Houston, TX, or Fort Lauderdale, FL. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Mobility activities: immigration and relocation through managing relevant vendors and represent the company and employees. 

  • Provide advice and a high level of customer service to the business and HR teams on all aspects of the assignment lifecycle and Mobility. This includes assisting the business in understanding the Mobility policies, interpreting and applying recommendations, and on-going end-to-end assignment management and other mobility initiatives.

  • Review, manage and communicate internal project transfers, site assignments and short term assignments in coordination between vendors and clients, 

  • Conduct initial assessment for each assignment request, project manage all assignment cases, ensure compliance with company policy and regulations. 

  • Communicate regularly with internal customers, stakeholders, and external vendors. 

  • Collaborate and built a strong relationship with vendors, Leadership team and HR team  to support and execute HR and mobility initiatives and policies. 

  • Manage the 3rd party vendors activities related to mobility, relocation and immigration and lead the communication among these venders and employees.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying areas for process improvement. 

  • Work and collaborate with global mobility and HR teams to harmonize country policies, mobility, relocation and immigration procedures. 

  • Perform risk assessments of potential related compliance gaps and takes lead in developing priorities and roadmaps for future initiatives.

  • Collaborate with HR team to develop and maintain policies for all relevant HR Mobility, immigration and relocation processes

The below will enable you to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience managing International Assignments, Relocation or similar roles. 
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge in the areas of immigration, assignment package elements, assignee transfer process, cost projections and policy development.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure quality and timely completion.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in speaking and writing in English.
  • Effective & efficient in decision making, conflict management and problem resolution.
  • Outstanding deductive reasoning with ability to make decisions within compliance.
  • Proficient in enterprise applications (e.g., Microsoft Office: Word, Power Point, Excel)
  • Position may require flexibility/ability to work across global time zones as needed.
  • Must be detail oriented and ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
