We are now looking for a Lead Document Controller – Engine Power Plants Projects to join our team working for a better future.
The position is permanent, with the preferred location in Houston, Texas, USA. Alternative locations such as Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Melbourne, Florida; and Herndon, Virginia may also be considered.
This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site presence two days per week
What You Will Be Doing
As a Lead Document Controller, you will manage document control activities for US-based Engine Power Plant projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, from sales through engineering, construction, and installation phases. You will ensure timely and accurate distribution, review, and approval of project documentation, while collaborating closely with local project teams and liaising with global Document Control resources. You will report directly to the General Manager, Project Documentation.
Responsibilities
- Implement and execute company document management routines and best practices in customer delivery projects.
- Prepare and maintain project document control-related training packages for project teams and support functions.
- Assist during the project sales phase with documentation-related requirements.
- Manage the requirements and risks during the project.
- Prepare a document management and control plan for the project.
- Ensure successful delivery of documentation in accordance with contractual requirements by supporting and advising project teams and external partners in document control activities.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers as required.
- Communicate and promote awareness of processes and standards where required.
- Supervise and advise Document Controllers as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, production economics, IT), or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years in Document Control within large-scale projects, preferably in construction or engineering.
- A general understanding of business tools related to project management methodologies is required
- Strong knowledge of document and content management principles and systems.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and cooperation skills across functions and businesses.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in English is required. Additional language skills, such as Spanish and/or Portuguese, are considered an advantage.
- Ability to work across time zones and travel as needed.
