Maintenance Planner

Position overview

We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Planner to join our Energy team in Houston. In this role, you will build and manage maintenance plans that protect availability, reduce downtime, and maximize lifecycle value for our customer installations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure maintenance scope, resources, and materials are ready—using IBM Maximo (CMMS/EAM) as the main planning tool. 

 

Location: preferred location is Houston.

 

What you will do

As a Maintenance Planner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain long-term maintenance plans for service agreement portfolios (lifecycle planning).
  • Create, update, and control annual and detailed maintenance schedules for assigned agreements; follow up executed and postponed activities to keep plans accurate and actionable. 
  • Provide input to annual maintenance budgeting and forecasting, supporting financial planning for maintenance delivery. 
  • Plan and coordinate resources and materials (spare parts, exchange components, special tools/equipment, field service resources) to ensure availability when needed. 
  • Use IBM Maximo to support scope planning, scheduling, and coordination across stakeholders (e.g., Contract/Agreement Management, Parts/Resources coordination). 
  • Prepare periodic reports and analysis (minor/major maintenance forecasts, plan vs. performance comparisons) and drive continuous improvement based on insights. 
  • Review Technical Bulletins and integrate relevant actions into future maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to strengthen planning quality, communication, and delivery reliability. 

 

What you bring (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the Energy industry (maintenance planning, asset management, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Maximo (CMMS/EAM) for planning, scheduling, and/or work management. 
  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience producing reports and turning data into planning improvements. 
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured way. 
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across functions and with customers. 

 

Nice to have

  • Experience in power generation or industrial maintenance environments.
  • Knowledge of predictive / condition-based maintenance approaches.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English (spoken and written).
