We are now looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager, North America & Caribbean to strengthen the Americas marketing team.

 

Wärtsilä is leading the transition towards a 100% renewable energy future, and Marketing & Communications plays a key role in creating awareness for Wärtsilä, building a preference for its flexible power solutions, energy storage solutions, and lifecycle services while also increasing stakeholder engagement in key focus countries.

 

Preferred locations are: Houston, TX; must be located in continental US (remote work optional).

 

  • Responsible for planning and executing marketing and communications activities with the goal of supporting the Americas area market development and sales targets.
  • Contribute to defining the marketing & communications strategy for Americas, including objectives, target groups, key messages, marcom activities, timeline and forecast, covering full scope of Wärtsilä Energy’s offering.
  • Based on the overall Energy Marketing & Communications goals and the Americas marketing strategy, set measurable performance indicators for the planned marcom activities, and regularly follow-up on progress, communicate actions internally, and adjust your actions as needed.
  • Identify and prioritise target groups in focus markets, and build customised messaging. Target groups typically include both customers (utilities, Independent Power Producers, industrial companies) as well as policy makers and regulators.
  • Create high quality targeted content which clearly communicates the value Wärtsilä brings to the target group. Localise global materials to fit the focus markets’ context.
  • Plan and execute integrated marketing and communications campaigns leveraging tactics like digital marketing, media relations, events and conferences as well as sponsoring and CSR, as relevant.
  • Support Americas leaders and experts in becoming recognised thought leaders in their area of expertise.
  • Communicate and share success stories and new developments, internally and externally.
  • Propose forecast for your marketing and communications activities and regularly follow up costs.
  • Track results and optimise actions along the way based on data, striving for maximum return on marketing investment.
  • Foster internal relationships to leverage Wärtsilä Energy organisation’s expertise, especially Growth & Development and Area Sales.

 

An ideal candidate:

  • Minimum 7 years working experience in marketing, communications or related work. B2B experience preferred
  • Experience in energy industry strongly preferred, with a focus on the US market
  • Able to understand and meet the needs of multiple internal stakeholders as well as a variety of external audiences
  • Interest in and insights into the energy transition in the Americas, including involvement in large internal projects and project management
  • Successful track record in international B2B marketing and communications, expertise in adapting content to local conditions
  • Skilled in leveraging partner network of creative and PR agencies, striving for high quality and effectiveness
  • Demonstrates conceptual thinking and ability to prioritise
  • Proficient in English, secondary languages such as Spanish or Portuguese a plus
  • Some travel required, up to 25% for event support and logistics and team meetings
