We are hiring an Mechanical Power Plant Technician to join our team through a structured development path. The role begins in Field Service, providing hands-on experience with mechanical systems in diverse environments, and with successful completion of the Field Service training program transitions into a plant-based technician role focused on mechanical maintenance and reliability of power generation equipment.

Phase 1: Field Service Technician (First 6–12 Months)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on engines, pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment at customer sites.
  • Assist with overhauls, troubleshooting, and component replacements.
  • Conduct inspections and document service activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to resolve mechanical issues.
  • Travel to customer locations across the region as needed.
  • Participate in the training rotation program that supports in the transition to Mechanical Plant Technician.

 

Phase 2: Electrical & Automation Power Plant Technician (Post-Transition)

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems within the power plant, including engines, turbines, pumps, and piping systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Monitor mechanical performance and support root cause analysis of failures.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities and support continuous improvement.
  • Perform plant operation activities including isolating equipment, reset engine and system alarms, performing Lock-out/Tag-out procedures as needed and preparing equipment for operations.
  • Participate in shutdowns, overhauls, and upgrades of mechanical systems.
  • Maintain high standard of cleanliness inside and outside of the power plant.

 

 

Required:

 

  • Technical diploma or associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or field service preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and travel frequently.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow safety protocols.
  • After training (6-12 months) you will be required to re-locate to the Pecos, TX area for plant operations   

 

Preferred:

 

  • Experience with Wärtsilä, MAN, or similar large-bore engine platforms.

Certifications in rigging, confined space, or mechanical safety are a plus.

Travel Requirements: This position requires a 70% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international, including onshore and offshore locations. The role demands adaptability to varying travel demands, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location.
