Operation & Maintenance Manager
We are looking for an Operation & Maintenance Manager to join our Power Plant team in Pecos, Texas.
What will you be doing
As an Operation & Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and optimizing all operational and maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role oversees the day-to-day operation of the facility, including the 24 engines and all associated auxiliaries, ensuring that preventive and corrective maintenance programs are effectively planned and executed to meet contractual, safety, and performance targets. The position drives continuous improvement in plant reliability, availability, and efficiency through performance monitoring, data analysis, and implementation of best practices, while maintaining full compliance with QEHS standards and agreement obligations. In addition, the Operations and Maintenance Manager leads and develops the operations and maintenance team, coordinates resources and schedules, manages costs and budgets, and supports procurement and planning of materials and services. Acting as a key on-site leader, the role also supports the Plant Manager in daily operations, stakeholder communication, and performance reporting, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and long-term asset performance objectives.
The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 3 years of experience in power plant operations and maintenance, strong team leadership abilities and excellent customer relationship management skills.
As an Operation & Maintenance Manager, you will focus on these responsibilities:
- Executing activities related to the operation and maintenance of the power plant.
- Develop and implement the annual Operation and Maintenance Plan and all resources necessary for its proper execution and administration.
- Prepare the report calculating the reliability and availability indices of the power plant and monitor them.
- Ensure compliance with Company Policies (Code of Ethics, procedures, environmental regulations) related to operations activities.
- Plan, assign, and supervise the activities of the personnel under your line, including their professional training. Ensure the motivation of operations personnel.
- Develop a Training Plan for your team. Identify new professional training needs.
- Implement and supervise operational and maintenance procedures.
- Prepare monthly reports on operational and maintenance performance and propose improvements.
- Monitor the performance of equipment and systems, making necessary adjustments to optimize production.
- Ensure project availability of all spare parts, tools, and elements necessary for the proper execution of the production plan and planned and unplanned maintenance.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in power plant operation and maintenance.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, teamwork ability, results orientation, and planning.
- Experience with Maintenance Management Systems (SAP or MAXIMO).
- Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Safety, Environment, and Energy).
- Experience in electric power generation systems (turbogenerators or diesel engines).
- Experience in medium- and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Analysis and monitoring of plant operation parameters.
- Knowledge of MS Office and SAP tools.
