Are you a seasoned Project Manager with a passion for excellence? Join our dynamic team in Energy Business.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects from execution through to the end of the warranty period. Your key responsibilities will include ensuring world-class project management, prioritizing customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, managing project finances, mitigating risks, and maintaining overall Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards. You will lead a project team within a matrix organization, ensuring adherence to the Company's Order to Delivery Process and Management Governance Model.

The position is permanent, and the locations is in US, Houston

Main responsibilities

• Lead and manage execution of Energy Customer delivery projects towards project its Objectives.
• Build high performing project team and foster team spirit and members wellbeing.
• Lead and coach the project team members involved in execution of projects.
• Lead project planning and project execution.
• Lead contract management and requirement management.
• Lead project engineering, purchasing and in some cases subcontracting activities.
• Manage project risks and opportunities effectively, plan actions proactively to mitigate risks.
• Maintaining customer relationship thru exceptional service and customer communication.
• Proactively interact with customers and listen for feedback.
• Demonstrate leadership by following Wärtsilä Leadership Model, Project Management Methodology and Business Directives.
• Develop and apply Project Management Best Practices.
• Work together with sales in assigned sales projects to secure profitable orders
• Drive Wärtsilä Purpose and demonstrate Wärtsilä values

Development responsibilities:

• Participate in developing and maintaining of Wärtsilä Way of Working.
• Give and collect feedback in projects.
• Collect and give feedback to persons involved in project execution in order to ensure people’s growth.
• Collect lessons learned throughout the project.

Requirements for this position:

• More than 15 years Project experience.
• Proven track record of executing Wärtsilä Powerplant projects
• In depth understanding of our offering and power plant solutions
• Good experience of leading a team in matrix or directly.
• Excellent commercial mindset & financial understanding.
• Extensive contract management skills.
• Advanced communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced influencing & negotiation skills and problem solving mind-set.
• Strong entrepreneurial attitude, goal oriented with skills to develop solutions for the customers and drive to deliver the extra mile.
• Multicultural sensitivity, ability to build relations and lead multi-cultural teams.
• Strategic forward thinker, positive mind-set and proactive way of working.
• Good skills in English (both written and spoken).
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering (or similar).
• PMP certification is seen as an advantage
