SOC Data Scientist/Analyst Intern (Summer 2026)

Join our Cyber Security team and contribute to strengthening our cyber defense through data. Working closely with Cyber Operations and the Security Operations Center (SOC), you will gain hands-on experience analyzing SOC incident data, exploring the cyber threat landscape data and help transform complex data into meaningful insights.

 

About the Role

As a Security Operations Center Data Scientist Trainee, you will focus on improving how we analyze and present incident data. Our incident datasets contain valuable insights and your role will help unlock them. This is a learning-focused opportunity where your analytical thinking, fresh ideas, and passion for data will directly support how we understand threats and continuously improve and strengthen our defense and incident response capabilities.

 

This role is based in Houston or Fort Lauderdale and requires onsite presence three times per week.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze SOC incident data to improve statistics, metrics, and analytics
  • Support the development of clear and meaningful reporting for incident trends and threat insights
  • Explore opportunities for automation and data standardization across incident datasets
  • Help identify patterns, trends, and gaps in incident data to better understand the threat landscape
  • Consolidate data from multiple sources (e.g. excel files, reports, logs) into a coherent narrative
  • Collaborate closely with the SOC and Cyber Ops team to align data insights with operational needs
  • Propose fresh ideas to improve how incident data is used and visualized

 

You Will Shine in This Role If You

  • Are currently studying or recently studied Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics or a related field
  • Have a background in Cyber Security or strong interest in the field
  • Enjoy working with datasets, spreadsheets and reports to turn numbers into insights and stories
  • Have an analytical mindset and are curious about patterns, trends, and root causes
  • Are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with multiple data sources
  • Are a fast learner who enjoys exploring new tools, datasets, and problem spaces
  • Are comfortable communicating clearly in written and spoken English (native or native-equivalent)
  • Bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn from experienced cyber professionals

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning)
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Exposure to data analysis or reporting projects (academic or personal)
  • Interest in automation, scripting, or improving data workflows
