Sales Support Engineer

In Energy, we are driving long-term and increasingly profitable growth. We are looking for a Sales Support Engineer AMER Region North to build our transactional sales organization. This is a permanent position with a strong preference for the selected candidate to be based in Houston, Texas. Candidates based in Fort Lauderdale, FL may also be considered.

 

You will be reporting to the Sales Support Manager AMER Region North.

 

What you will be doing:

 

The position of Sales Support Engineer for AMER Region North aims to contribute with technical knowledge and commercial skills to increase sales and build relationships with our Customers.

 

In this position, your main key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the customer's business and identifies value drivers for them
  • Ability to create high-quality service proposal offers based on the customer business case
  • In collaboration with Account Manager, applies value-based selling principle to showcase the commercial and technical value that Wärtsilä can offer
  • Has knowledge about Wärtsilä's engine and product portfolio and comprehensive understanding about own region’s installed base
  • Proactively stays up to date with current and future technologies and solutions, enabling the identification of potential sales leads based on customer business cases or interactions with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify, engage, and lead collaborations with internal and external stakeholders in a diverse cross-cultural environment
  • Actively contributes to the success of the team by demonstrating strong teamworking skills
  • Possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively influence others.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead oneself and others effectively prioritize tasks and responsibilities.

  • Can accurately identify customer needs and direct the lead to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer expectations and internal capabilities.

Requirements:

 

  • Experience with collaborating with cross functional stakeholders
  • Have a business and goal-oriented mind-set
  • Drive business results with excellent planning and execution skills
  • Good commercial understanding and capacity to transfer product technical features to commercially appealing proposals
  • Bring at least two years of related experience
  • Have relevant education, such as B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering / Economics /Business or similar
  • Bring at least two years of related experience and experience using Microsoft Projects or Excel Gantt Chart creation
  • Fluent in English and/or Spanish language skills is a benefit
  • Are willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
  • Ability and willingness to work in a hybrid model, with two days per week in the office.
