Technical Advisor - Agreement

Job Description: Technical Advisor, Agreement

 

Position Summary
The Technical Advisor, Agreement is responsible for supporting day-to-day power plant operations, advising the customer on technical and operational matters, overseeing key performance indicators, and ensuring optimal plant performance. This role includes managing a small onsite team, maintaining strong customer relationships, and providing timely reporting and documentation to internal and external stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Operational & Technical Support

  • Support the customer in daily plant operations and ensure smooth execution of agreement-related activities.
  • Monitor overall plant health and key performance indicators (KPIs), including heat rate, electrical output, lubricating oil consumption, fuel oil consumption, availability, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate to internal experts or management when necessary.
  • Advise the customer on inventory management risks, including safety stock levels, exchange counts, and min/max settings.

 

Reporting & Documentation

  • Produce monthly reports summarizing plant performance, maintenance activities, and operational insights.
  • Complete internal reports using site data (e.g., WiseLT) and ensure data accuracy and timely submission.
  • Document and communicate opportunities for enhanced customer support, reliability improvements, and long-term optimization.

 

Customer Interaction & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the customer, maintaining a professional and solutions-oriented relationship.
  • Provide guidance, recommendations, and technical insight to enable informed decision-making by the customer.
  • Support the development and training of the customer’s operational team to improve technical competencies and plant performance.

 

Team Leadership

  • Manage and supervise a mechanical technician assigned to the agreement to ensure safe and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Coordinate team activities, set priorities, and ensure adherence to operational and safety standards.

 

 

 

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Strong technical understanding of power plant operations, mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, data analysis, and performance monitoring in an industrial or power generation environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
  • Ability to lead a small team, manage tasks, and support personnel development.
  • Proficiency in report writing, KPI tracking tools, and systems such as WiseLT (or similar).
  • Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
