Senior Service Engineer E&A

We are looking for a Senior Service Engineer – Electrical & Automation with a main responsibility in troubleshooting and maintaining engine control and automation systems.

 

The location for this position is in Istanbul (Tuzla), Turkey, and candidates are expected to be based in or willing to relocate to the surrounding area.

 

Your role and responsibilities

 

As a Senior Service Engineer E&A, your work will include troubleshooting control systems, support engine overhaul activities, and ensuring reliable operation of automation equipment. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as part of a dynamic Field Service team with diverse expertise.

 

As a Senior Service Engineer E&A, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Performing troubleshooting and fault diagnostics on control systems and equipment (e.g., WECS, UNIC) in line with customer requirements.
  • Supporting, guiding, and supervising engine parameters during repair, maintenance, and overhaul activities.
  • Ensuring proper operation of engine control systems and related electrical components.
  • Assisting in the inspection, testing, and commissioning of automation and control systems.
  • Applying basic knowledge of engine auxiliaries and associated control devices.
  • Delivering high-quality service while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

 

Requirements for the position

 

  • B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial communication systems (TCP/IP, Profibus, RS232/485).
  • Understanding of engine governing and control systems (Woodward, WECS, UNIC).
  • Fluency in English and Turkish (written and spoken).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 80% of the time)

 

As an ideal candidate you might also have…

 

  • Basic PLC troubleshooting skills (Siemens Step7 / TIA Portal, Schneider EcoStruxure / Unity Pro).
  • Basic knowledge of SCADA systems (Wonderware InTouch, FactoryLink, WinCC).
  • Experience in installation, maintenance, or repair environments.
  • Familiarity with Wärtsilä products.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Cost awareness and focus on efficiency.
  • Strong technical communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
