Senior Service Engineer

We are now looking to welcome an enthusiastic Senior Engineer to join our Field Service team. The role is offered on a permanent basis and will be based in Istanbul, Turkey and there will be frequent opportunities to travel (>50% of the time).

What will you be doing?

 

As a Trainee in Voyage Supply Management, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
•    Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan.
•    Overhauls and repairs on assemblies on site and/or in workshops.
•    Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.
•    Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
•    Follow-up and report on the status of work orders to customer and/or internal stakeholders.
•    Create the Service Work Reports.
•    Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
•    Ensure that the work is executed according to QSHE guidelines and site procedures and policies.
•    Continuously seek for solutions in according to best practices.

 

The below will enable you to shine in this role:
•    Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and proven background within a service environment.
•    Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering or equivalent is desirable.
•    Technical experience in marine engineering with practical problem-solving skills.
•    Proven experience of installation operation, maintenance and repair.
•    A safety-first mind-set.
•    Highly effective technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
•    Interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution.
•    You must have completed your military service obligation.
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite. 
•    Fluent in English and Turkish, both written and verbal.

 

You may be at an advantage with:
•    Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering or equivalent
•    Demonstrable experience in propulsion shaft alignment and vibrations 
•    Proven experience of working with electrical systems 

 

Due to the nature of this role, there will be frequent travel involved (>50% of the time).
