Superintendent Engineer

We are looking for a Superintendent Engineer based in Istanbul (Turkey) to lead and execute field service activities for our customers in the energy sectors.  

 

You’ll take end-to-end ownership of on-site overhauls, repairs, and troubleshooting, inspire teams to perform at their best, and ensure every engagement is safe, efficient, and memorable for our customers.  

 

What will you be doing 

 

As Superintendent Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan. 

  • Lead teams and projects with proven, hands-on leadership in the field. 

  • Perform overhauls and repairs on assemblies on site and/or in workshops. 

  • Interact professionally with customers during work’s execution, ensuring clear communication and alignment. 

  • Provide internal and external progress status updates on the assigned work. 

  • Create accurate and timely Service Work Reports. 

  • Ensure that all work is executed according to QSHE guidelines and site procedures and policies. 

  • Follow up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders. 

  • Continuously seek solutions according to best practices, driving quality, reliability, and cost effectiveness. 

  • Demonstrate cost awareness and effectiveness in planning and execution. 

  • Utilize Deliver Solutions to Customers processes and tools to ensure consistent service delivery. 

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering. 

  • Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and at least 10 years of experience. 

  • Technical experience in marine engineering with strong, practical problem-solving skills. 

  • Proven experience in installation, operation, maintenance, and repair in marine/energy applications. 

  • Proven leadership skills, with experience leading engineers and projects in the field. 

  • Highly effective technical communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Fluent in Turkish and English, both written and verbal. 

  • Proficiency in computer applications and digital reporting tools. 

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate across functions and cultures. 

  • Cost awareness and effectiveness in planning and time management. 

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%, often at short notice, and work in varied site conditions. 

  • Completion of military service is required. 

 

As an ideal candidate you might also have… 

 

  • Knowledge and experience of Wärtsilä engines is an advantage, especially SG Gas Engines. 

  • Experience working with electrical systems is beneficial.
