Commissioning Coordinator

We are now looking for a Commissioning Coordinator to join in our Project team in Itajaí/SC, Brazil. In this position, you will report to the Manager Construction Sites 2 within Wärtsilä and to the Project Manager within the Project and will be responsible for coordination of commissioning activities (coordination, organization and planning) between shipyard, customer, site installation team and engineering team.

Main activities:

  • Responsible for preparing commissioning plans with emphasis on controlling the schedule of services assigned.
  • Contributing to the smooth running of planned activities.
  • Support team leadership.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, both externally and internally.
  • Ensure that all requirements related to the process are executed with quality, in accordance with the rules and within the established deadlines.
  • Be the focal point of contact for commissioning engineers, site commissioning  team, Wärtsilä’s site installation team, shipyard, customer and sub-contractor for the any activities related to commissioning of Wärtsilä’s scope of supply.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Profession: electrical engineer, approx. 5 years of relevant professional experience in complex projects.
  • Advantage: knowledge in shipbuilding (e.g. in power distribution and alarm systems).
  • Experience with electrotechnical installations on ships or similar, such as but not limited to:

            -Power generation and distribution

            -Ship automation

            -Lighting

  • Experience in planning commissioning procedures.
  • Knowledge of the structure and procedures of electrotechnical installation work.
  • Be familiar with rules and regulations (e.g. classification society DNV).
  • Knowledge of occupational safety- HSE awareness.
  • Excellent communication and team skills.
  • Leadership, initiative and independence.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Good understanding of complex processes.
  • Good MS Office skills.
  • Fluent in English in word and writing.
