We are now looking for a Sr Commissioning Technician to join in our Project team in Itajaí/SC, Brazil. In this position, you will report to the Commissioning Coordinator and the Commissioning/Testfield Manager, in Wärtsilä and will ensure cost-effective and on-time flawless testing and commissioning of the Wärtsilä supplied electrical systems on site at the shipyard.

Main activities:
- Commissioning of products, systems and equipment manufactured and supplied by Wärtsilä MES on site at the shipyard.
- Fixing commissioning problems in cooperation with project planning and design.
- Analysis of faults on devices and systems on site.
- Documentation of the as built hand over status of all systems.
- Error analysis regarding the required spare parts and required measures.
- Briefing of the ship's crew.
- Execution of acceptance tests of equipment for the ship class, their inspectors, shipyard and customer.
- Execution of special works and service tasks on construction sites and outdoor objects on demand of the service department.
- Ensuring compliance with deadlines and budget requirements.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Completed training as a state-certified electric engineering technician or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience, in the field of testing and initial commissioning of power distribution systems in shipbuilding.
- Quality expertise in the applicable classification requirements and industrial standards are needed.
- MS Office skills are required.
- Fluent in English language in word and writing is essential.
- For test and service tasks a recognized switching qualification (switching authorization) is required.
- Applicable procedures in the field of health, occupational safety and environment (HSE) must be well known, e.g. Lo-To (log out / tag out).
- Willingness to travel worldwide.
