Sales Support Engineer

Wärtsilä is looking for a Sales Support Engineer to support Italian team In Service Unit Mediterranean and Atlantic, with specific focus on Wärtsilä Propulsion and Seals & Bearings Products. He/She will be responsible for following and developing business in Italy through a high level quality of Quotation Management and will also be involved in technical-commercial Customer visits when needed.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of proposal packages, services offers, costs estimates, wordings, terms & conditions, tender documents, mostly dedicated to Wärtsilä Propulsion and Seals & Bearings Products.
  • Preparation, check e discussing of costs estimates with the entities involved in the delivery process (FS Operations, Contract Management Marine, and Wärtsilä Delivery Organizations).
  • Participate in contract reviews in cooperation with local Sales and Business Lines/Areas Organization.
  • Utilization of internal tools (i.e.: Services Configurator, CRM, SAP, etc.).
  • Support the internal structure in answering to customer’s technical requests.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and ensure timely and accurate offer processes.
  • Interfacing with customers to ensure the correct process in sending offer and accepting order.

 

Qualifications:

  • Technical drawings understanding, technical trouble-shooting skills in order to support customers during problem identification and/or scope of supply detailing.
  • Advanced technical background in order to identify and propose the proper Solution from Propulsion and Seals & Bearings Catalogue.
  • High level of technical skills on Propulsion and S&B Products to support the customer’s planning of service activities to be offered as a priority and targeted.
  • Advanced knowledge of Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Advanced elements of costs estimate and quoting processes/activities.
  • Written and spoken English/Italian for daily activities is required. Plus, written and spoken French/Spanish is appreciated.
  • Customer service mind-set.
  • Workload and time management.
  • Willingness and learning skills on technical/mechanical.
  • Sense of urgency and good capability in prioritising.
  • Sense of ownership.
  • Team-work spirit.
  • Wärtsilä Propulsion and Seals & Bearings technical knowledge (or experiences in field/technical service activities).
  • Wärtsilä way of working understanding.

 

Education:

The ideal candidate does have technical high school certificate and/or technical M.Sc / B.Sc degrees.

 

Experience:

  • It is strongly preferred a previous experience in Sales and/or Technical Support related to Propulsion and Seals & Bearings Products.
  • Multiple years of work experience in business environment and in structured and demanding organizations.
  • Daily experience in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets utilization.
