At Wärtsilä, we are shaping the decarbonisation of marine and energy industries through innovation, collaboration, and sustainable technology. We are now looking for an Area Security Coordinator to support the implementation of our corporate security program across the Middle East & Asia region.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a security professional who is passionate about protecting people, operations, facilities, and business assets while enabling business success in a dynamic, international environment.
What will you be doing?
As an Area Security Coordinator, you will support the Area Security Manager in delivering security governance and operational security activities across multiple countries and sites. You will serve as a trusted advisor to local stakeholders, helping the business identify, assess, and mitigate security risks while ensuring compliance with corporate security standards.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the implementation of Wärtsilä's corporate security program across the assigned region.

Coordinating and monitoring the implementation of corporate security policies, standards, and procedures.

Conducting and supporting physical security and site security risk assessments.

Identifying security threats, vulnerabilities, and operational risks affecting personnel, facilities, and business operations.

Supporting incident management activities, investigations, corrective actions, and lessons learned processes.

Maintaining and coordinating security-related processes, including travel security, incident reporting, and site security documentation.

Working closely with local stakeholders, Managing Directors, site management teams, and business leaders to provide security guidance and support.

Managing relationships with local security providers and external partners.

Supporting access control, video surveillance, and other physical security systems in line with corporate requirements.

Monitoring regional security developments and escalating relevant risks, incidents, and concerns.

Supporting business travellers, visitors, and local teams with security-related arrangements and advice.

Contributing to security awareness, training, emergency preparedness, and business resilience initiatives.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced security professional who combines strong operational security knowledge with excellent stakeholder management skills.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Experience in corporate security, physical security, security operations, risk management, or a related field.

Police or military background with experience in corporate security, physical security, security operations, risk management, or a related field is highly preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Security and Risk Management, Security Studies, Criminology, Risk Management, Business Continuity, or a related field is preferred.

Experience conducting security risk assessments and implementing risk mitigation measures.

Understanding of incident management, investigations, crisis response, and security governance.

Knowledge of physical security systems, including access control and surveillance solutions.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across different cultures and business functions.

Experience working in a multi-country, regional, or multi-site environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

A proactive approach and sound professional judgment in managing security-related matters.
