About the Role
We are currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Expert E&A (Electrical & Automation). In this role, you will provide advanced technical expertise and support across Wärtsilä’s engine and automation systems, working closely with internal stakeholders and customers to resolve complex technical challenges and drive continuous improvement to join our technical service R-AA team as expert E & A.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electric & electronics, automation, or mechatronics engineering
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Wartsila Products, particularly power plant automation, engine automation, HMI/SCADA platforms, and industrial networks
Strong expertise in PLC programming, automation software (Siemens Step 7, Siemens TIA Portal, Modicon Unity or Ecostruxure), and industrial control systems
Expert level knowledge of Wärsilä’s engine automation product (WECS 2000/3000/7500/8000, UNIC 1st Gen and UNIC 2nd Gen)
Experience with Wärtsilä WOIS/sWOIS system is considered a strong advantage
Mandatory experience with Wärtsilä 4-stroke engines and associated plant automation systems & auxiliaries
Apply knowledge of industrial networking technologies, including IP networks, ring topologies, switches, and routers
Apply knowledge of industrial frequency converters, relay protections, AVRs
Proven ability to work independently in dynamic and demanding field environments
Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong focus on results
Excellent communication and technical reporting skills
Strong team orientation with the flexibility to collaborate across global and multicultural teams
What You Will Be Doing
Analyze with adequate conclusions and recommendations (reports) for how to solve technical problems of the customer
Report the related work progress to relevant stakeholders
Technical Support to internal Service Sales, Operation Support etc, Field Service, warranty etc. and external customers based on requests and (future) demands for 4-stroke and auxiliaries
Visit sites when deeper product, system and/or performance analysis is needed
On-site advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, and RCA
Support internal sales team with technical discussions and meetings on technical topics with customers
Participate in introducing new products, testing and follow-up of the products
Stay updated on new product, bulletins, field test, etc.
Provide input for the product improvement process, Service Bulletins, TS documentations, area issues etc.
Perform and participate in Root Cause Analysis accordingly, even on multiple/complex issues: electrical, automation auxiliaries, having system overview
Perform product improvements for non-portfolio products
May act as a trainer in special expertise area including e.g. performing training
Analyse field experience and customer feedback data in order to improve the products and solutions as well as operation and maintenance of the installation
Acquire know-how within own technical expert area
