Specialist, PSH Asia Pacific


We are looking for an HR Specialist to join our People Support Hub team in Asia Pacific region. This is a regional role focusing on HR services. Candidates from Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Papua New Guinea can apply. 

 

The People Support Hub is as part of People Services organization – a team accountable for the delivery of our employee experience and creating a base for compliance, efficiency and scalability through inquiry, transactional and specialty services. The People Support Hub is accountable for our standard people process delivery and inquiry resolution in an efficient, timely and accurate manner towards all Wärtsilä employees. 

 

The People Support Hub, acts as first point of contact for all people related inquires towards employees and line managers, seeking to provide solutions via 1) self-service (chatbot, access to knowledge bank of policies, instructions and guides), 2) escalation of unique queries to the relevant party in the HR organization
 
About the Position:
As an HR Specialist, People Support Hub, Asia Pacific, you will be working together with a virtual team of colleagues within your region, supporting the employees and managers in your responsibility area with their people matters. Together with your colleagues, you are in direct contact with our HR customers on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that their support needs are responded to. You will report to the Team Lead, People Support Hub, Asia Pacific

 

What will you be doing:
As HR Specialist, PSH Asia Pacific , your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Guide and advise employees and managers on their daily people matters
  • Deliver employee lifecycle services within your region, keeping employee files and data up-to-date
  • Support HR services - Recruitment, Employee Branding, Onboarding, Performance Excellence and Rewarding (Target setting, Achievement Review, Merit Review, Inflation, Off-cycle increase, Bonus processes) and other processes as assigned from time to time
  • Prepare documentation, contracts/job offer and support in hiring 
  • Prepare documentation related to Annual clock activities, support Line Managers in the region to complete processes in time 
  • Participate in local/regional HR projects and implementing them 
  • Bring local expertise to both regional and global team 
  • Support employees and managers is using the self-services and signposting them to sources of information 
  • Support local compliance of mandatory trainings (delivery and completion management) 
  • Support language translation needs as applicable 
  • Train Line Manager, employees, HR counterparts when new processes are implemented or udpated 
  • Contribute to establishing the new ways of working for the People Support Hub and identify and document needs for automating/digitizing manual and offline processes

 

About You:

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement). Candidates with Post graduate Diploma / MBA in Human Resource Management / HR certification preferred. 
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in Human Resources role, with minimum 2 years’ experience in Recruitment Onboarding, Performance Excellence & Rewarding processes. Experience in SAP SuccessFactors -Employee Central system will be an advantage. 
  • Understand and be an expert on multiple country specific people matters within your region 
  • Demonstrate effective collaboration skills with customer orientation 
  • Have Cultural understanding and an ability to work within a team and deliver services across different cultures 
  • Understand our global learning practices and requirements; able to support local compliance of mandatory trainings 
  • Support local compliance in various activities, including but not limited to offboarding activities, documentation requirements 
  • Be Fluent in English to support in drafting letters – offer letters, employment contracts, merit increase letters, contract extensions, internal transfer etc, as applicable 
  • Demonstrate a genuine desire to make an impact on Wartsila people 
  • Be service-minded 
  • Propose and implement Process Improvement, Operational Excellence, Automation ideas
  • Be a proactive and solution-oriented problem solver with excellent communication skills 
  • Quick learner and enthusiastic in adopting a fresh approach to delivering the people services 
  • Be proficient with modern tools and comfortable in incorporating new ones in your daily work
  • Enjoy some routine work from time to time with a broad generalist HR scope
