Project Manager S&B PMO

The Position

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering Global Seals & Bearings projects and will be integral to ensure on time delivery. The successful candidate will be based out of our Toyama Office, Japan but will be required to travel on a global scale.

  • Deliver projects on time, to cost and to the specified quality standard.
  • Develop Project Management Processes and capabilities in S&B Globally.
  • As part of the S&B Global Project Office ‘Project Review Team’ Evaluate project proposals for feasibility, risk, business value/profit.
  • Review & execute contracts according to the agreed upon terms.
  • Lead and manage the project lifecycle ensuring that all internal and external parties are effectively communicated with and expectations set.
  • Ensure that effective customer relationships are maintained and developed to ensure that we become a business partner of choice and provide scope for further sales opportunities.
  • Enabling the projects team by working closely with the business enabling services for the procurement of resource.
  • Continuously seek to improve the way of working to enable effective project delivery.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and document risk and issued and develop and manage response plans accordingly.
  • Monitor and report project KPI’s including costs, schedule and quality and initiate any appropriate corrective action(s) to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Manage the delivery of project activities according to contract requirements
  • Liaise with other teams and other senior staff in co-ordination of works.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and Company process and procedures.
  • Be a representative of the business and business line in project meetings with customers and external stakeholders.

 Job Specification

  • Strong background within technical Project Management.
  • Awareness of the Project Management gated model process.
  • Hold a current Project Management qualification or can demonstrate relevant experience or working towards such a qualification as a PMP, Prince 2 Practitioner.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to travel globally to meet customer demand and project timescales.
  • Knowledge of the marine industry.
  • Computer literate with competent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English, verbal and written
  • Desirable other languages Mandarin and Korean
