Production Technician

Wärtsilä Gas Solutions in Kalmar Sweden, develops and manufactures plants that purify biogas to replace fossil energy in all applications where (fossil) natural gas is used today, both in gas and liquid form (LNG).
We also work with development projects in carbon dioxide capture (CCS) and synthetic gas (P2X). Currently the business unit in Kalmar has 51 employees and good market prospects mean we need to grow. We are a small company within the larger Gas Solutions business area with headquarters in Asker, Norway, which in turn is part of the Wärtsilä corporation with headquarters in Finland.
We now need to further strengthen our team in Kalmar with two project engineers.
What will you be doing?
As a Production Technician, you will focus on these activities:
• Support the Workshop Manager with various tasks such as administration, planning, purchasing, safety and reporting
• Be the go-to person for technical and quality questions from our pipe welders and assembly personnel
• Create plans for NDT (Non Destructive Test) of welded pipes (X-ray and pressure test)
• Ensure that necessary tools and consumables are available in production
· Monitor and plan maintenance and calibration of production equipment
• Assist in feeding the client documentation with data from manufacturing
• Work in the MRP-system (SAP) for production
· Purchasing of outsourced welded items including quality control
· Handle invoices related to the manufacturing operation
· Participate in project meetings
· Drive continuous improvement
You´ll shine in this role if you have several of these competences or experiences:
• Genuine interest in manufacturing of technically advanced low volume products
• Mechanical engineering from process industry or similar
• Experience of assembly of process equipment (pump, heat exchanger, compressor, regulating valves, gas analysis etc)
• Experience of pipe welding in stainless steel, both classified according to PED and non-classified
• Good planning capabilities
• Safety mindset and 5S
• SAP
• AutoCAD plant 3D (Navigate and understand)
• MS Office applications
• Well organised
• Fluent in Swedish and English in both speech and writing is required
