About the company

 

Do you want to be part of the green transition to fossil-free energy? Wärtsilä Gas Solutions in Kalmar develops and manufactures plants that purify biogas from

carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide and water, which enables the purified renewable gas to replace fossil energy in vehicle fuels and in all applications where (fossil)

natural gas is used today, in both gas and liquid form ( LNG). We also work with development projects in carbon dioxide capture (CCS) and synthetic gas (P2X).

The unit in Kalmar currently has 27 employees and good market prospects mean we need to grow. We are part of the Gas Solutions business area with headquarters

in Asker, Norway, which in turn is part of the listed Wärtsilä with headquarters in Finland.


In our workshop in Kalmar, we weld pipes, assemble components on large base plates which are then built into container-like modules for delivery to the customer.

Typical lead time for a project is 6 to 12 months.


We now need to strengthen with another buyer in Kalmar.

 

Job duties

  • Purchase of equipment for our manufacturing toward new installations
  • Purchase of services and hired resources for operations in Kalmar.
  • Negotiation with suppliers regarding prices and conditions.
  • Follow-up of deliveries of both goods and documentation.
  • Handle complaints towards suppliers.
  • Manage supplier invoices and suppliers in SAP.
  • Support for projects and evaluation of new suppliers.
  • Participation in projects is a natural part of the work.

 

Qualifications

  • A genuine interest in working with suppliers and purchasing for project based manufacturing and installations
  • Experience and interest in working with IT systems such as SAP and MS-Office.
  • Good knowledge in spoken and written Swedish as communication with the workshop takes place in Swedish.
  • Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written. Wärtsilä is a global company. Many of our suppliers and projects are international.
  • Experience from purchasing and manufacturing process equipment is advantageous, but recent graduates are also welcome to apply.

  • Interest in using IT systems at work.
  • Desire to work in a global company with global customers.
  • Technical knowledge and technical curiosity is an advantage. We are a small unit with a complex product and it is good to have knowledge in many different areas.
  • Personal interest in biogas and green energy conversion makes the job even more interesting.
