Wärtsilä Global Logistics Services organization in Kampen is our Central Distribution Centre from where we deliver over 100.000 technical spare parts to our worldwide customers in the Marine and Energy industry.

 

We are now looking for a 

 

Classification Engineer

 

to join our team working for a better future. 


The position is permanent based on our Global Distribution Centre in Kampen, the Netherlands. 

 

What you will be doing 

 

In this position you will become part of a enthusiastic and passionate team of 5 classification engineers, 4 documentation and 4 tuning specialists that are working closely together on a daily basis. You have the chance to work in a high pace and dynamic environment within a technical and logistics environment. It is your goal to provide our customers with the requested technical parts and the correct classification society in time.

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

 

  • Maintenance of material master data which are related to classification of spare parts.
  • Contact with stakeholders like Purchasing Department, Technical Department, Parts Coordination, Quality Department, Classification
  • Societies, Suppliers, Customers.
  • Participate in development of process improvements.
  • Process reclassification of spare parts according to the requirements from marine, offshore customers and classification societies.
  • Administrating the documentation tasks related to the classification of spare parts.

 

What do we expect from you?

 

  • You hold a technical education or technical working experience.
  • Understanding about (Diesel) Engines, rotating equipment and/or Propulsion technology.
  • Experience in a technical logistics environment is seen is a big advantage.
  • Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Very good experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • You are a self-starter, with cooperative, administration, reporting and organizing skills.
