The preferred location for the position is in Kampen, The Netherlands.

What you will be doing

As a Quality Inspector, Return Parts you are part of Wärtsilä’s Global Logistics Services organization. From our Central Distribution Centre in Kampen, we ship yearly over 100.000 spare parts deliveries worldwide to our customers in the Marine and Energy industries.

In this position you will be part of a team of approximately 15 logistic and technical experts ensuring the quality and inventory of all returned technical parts by our customers. As a Return Expert you are responsible to check the quality, quantity and revision of the returned items before they can be booked back in stock. In this position you have the chance to work in a high pace and dynamic environment within a technical and logistics environment. You work in close cooperation with the Non-Conformity, Inventory and Return handling specialists and quality experts within and outside your department.

As Quality Inspector, Return Parts your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • You handle and perform inspections on different types of (technical) parts returned to our warehouse by our customers.
  • You create vendor notifications based on returned parts and report on product quality, causal analyses and the required improvement measures.
  • Compiling root cause analysis reports in good technical English.
  • Testing and measuring in line with standards detailed on drawings in the order specifications.
  • Arranging material examinations and measurements at the request of Technical Support.
  • Ensure operations performance and efficiency, meeting set targets and KPIs. Ensure high quality of end-to-end operations.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

  • Since you will be working in a technical and logistics related environment, you hold a vocational or bachelor’s degree in one of these two domains.
  • You have strong analytical skills which enable you to perform root cause analyses.
  • Work experience within a warehouse and logistics environment.
  • Previous experience in a high quality demanding environment or experience with quality inspections is seen as an advantage.
  • You're a team player, with a true service attitude. You're precise, decisive, and positive and have the ability to work systematically.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English language (spoken and written).
  • You have experience within a logistics ERP system, preferably SAP.
