Senior Delivery Engineer
Based in Taiwan to be part of a local team representing Wärtsilä (WDSL) to provide client liaison and support for shaft line delivery activities – for both locally and internationally sourced equipment. Role would include supervision of delivery and overseeing of installation activities (if required) in accordance with relevant codes, industry best practice and within Class Society rules & guidelines. Use and the management of Wärtsilä (WDSL)’s in-house system for logging and raising technical queries between the relevant parties, and identifying the local skills requirements of the local team.
We are looking for a dynamic, Senior Delivery Engineer with experience leading diverse, multi-disciplinary teams in delivering technical customer support ideally within a Naval environment. The incumbent will demonstrate a passionate customer-focus, on time delivery, a strong sense of ownership, be comfortable working on-board during new build and vessel maintenance periods and be able to demonstrate a track-record of integrating in-house and third-party products and solutions.
The successful candidate will be employed on a permanent basis and will be based out of our office in Kaohsiung Taiwan.

Travel to UK can be expected from time to time for training and other business activities.
The Person:
Strong communication skill, presentable appearance and experience in working directly with clients, demonstrating a thorough understanding of working safely with marine/mechanical systems. Organised with ability to manage self and others, able to demonstrate working safely within a marine/Naval environment.
Detailed Role Accountabilities:
- Technical project management and control of work leading up to successful project delivery.
- Supervision of other team members, as required to meet objectives.
- Developing and deploying safe systems of work, as required, as part of the delivery project.
- Supervision of delivery receipts and handovers to customer. Reporting of discrepancies and management of resolutions.
- On time delivery and correct quality of service support.
- Project monitoring and reporting of changes to delivery scope.
- Compliance with relevant local regulations and trade control requirements.
- Time management and general organisational skills, covering self and other team members.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate delivery engineering projects, including dealing with customer queries.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant regulations and codes of practice.
- Work closely with UK product engineering teams to ensure seamless delivery and support is provided to the customer.
- Ensure that changes and deviations to plan are recorded and actioned accordingly.
- Liaison with the main project stakeholders, internal and external.
- Mentor junior members of staff.
- Work harmoniously with other company functions.
- Be prepared to visit the client or suppliers at short notice.
Development Responsibilities:
- Develop the knowledge base of relevant product specifications, installation, commissioning and maintenance procedures, and operational experience within the wider team.
- Mentor junior members of the team.
Education, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- 10 years’ experience in maritime engineering field, either at sea, in vessel overhaul or new build shipyard environments.
- Close working knowledge of ROCN organisation, culture and policies.
- Able to speak and write in English
- Must be eligible for relevant security clearances associated with TW IDS project.
Desirable:
- Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience using MS Project
