FS Engineer for EGC Systems

We are looking for Service Engineer for EGC/CCS (Carbon Capture & Storage) System in Japan. This is a permanent opportunity and its location is Kobe, Japan.

What will you be doing:

Here in Wartsila Japan, we have more than 100 EGC local customer installation and customers. De-carbonization is on top of the agenda throughout the Shipping Industry, and many different solutions and technologies are being developed to address this. For us in Exhaust Treatment, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is an obvious technology to explore in this regard. Wartsila’s CCS-Ready scrubbers smooth the pathway to onboard CCS adoption.


As Service Engineer for EGC/CCS System, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Executing warranty, commissioning work, sea trail & supervision of Field Service Wartsila EGC/CCS Products.
  • Carrying out troubleshooting, routine maintenance, inspection, and repair for Wartsila EGC/CCS Products.
  • Performing dry docking maintenance and supervision for Wartsila EGC/CCS Products.
  • Inspecting the EGC/CCS general condition, the control system and pneumatic system.
  • Evaluating the EGC/CCS running performance.
  • Prepare & submit service work reports.
  • Wartsila EGC/CCS Products modification works.
  • Technical communications with Wärtsilä field service stakeholders and customers.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Ability to work on industrial with field service & marine engineer background
  • Ability to understand, use and correct electrical and automation schematics and drawings, and related component level documentation.
  • Suitable real-world knowledge and experience related to control system specification and design, PLC programming and diagnostics, VSD motor control, process sensors and instrumentation, valves, pumps, fans and other process system componentry.
  • Knowledge of machinery/field service work experience
  • More than 1 years' experience of similar task
  • Good command of English, written and verbal
  • Excellent command of Japanese, written and verbal.( Mandatory)
  • BSc in Mechanical, Marine, Electric & Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering
