Project Manager, Exhaust Treatment, Marine Systems

We are looking for Project Manager, Exhaust Treatment in Japan. This is a permanent opportunity and its location is Kobe, Japan.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Customer Project or Contract Execution. Deliver assigned projects and/or service agreements to organisation and customer expectations:

Timeliness: On time delivery of engineering documentation and material components

Cost:  Completion within budget. Deviation between Cost Budget, Forecast and Actuals. Forecast accuracy

Quality: Scope control. Use of standard solutions. Level of rework and non-conformities.

  • Internal Operational Development.

Contribution to non customer projects within Exhaust Treatment and Delivery Management.

Contribution to the development of own team, the Delivery Management Department and EGC.

 

What will you be doing:

As Project Manager, Exhaust Treatment, you are responsible for the successful execution of assigned new build and retrofit Exhaust Treatment projects. Success is defined by on time and within budget delivery according to the contracted requirements, and also stakeholder satisfaction. This requires a solid technical background, the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes, and run parallel projects in a structured and efficient manner.

  • Be responsible for and manage assigned projects/contracts and their risks
  • Effectively manage resources to deliver contracted outcomes
  • Manage conflicts between time, quality and cost
  • Lead and manage the project lifecycle: contract, engineering, procurement, delivery, commissioning and handover
  • Effectively report, communicate, negotiate and influence outcomes internally, with customers and suppliers
  • Continuously improve work processes and procedures

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering, Marine Engineering or equivalent.
  • Very high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Good Japanese language skills
  • Self-motivated to deliver results
  • Structured and efficient
  • Adaptable, resilient, optimistic
  • Willing to travel internationally
  • 2+ years relevant project management experience, preferably in the marine industry
  • Relevant commercial (contracts and purchasing) experience
  • Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills
  • Able to work independently and as the leader of a distributed project team
