Sales Manager

Location: Japan Office / Kobe or Imabari

Responsible countries: Japan

Responsible market: New Build, Upgrades, Retrofit & After Sales in Japan

Accountabilities:

  • Net Sales volume
  • Order Intake
  • Margins/profitability
  • Increase of customer satisfaction level through consistent communication and support

       ・ Open up new markets for Marine Business

 

Responsibilities

  • Generate sales leads from customers in defined area
  • Active in opportunity management in order to meet yearly budget
  • Increase market share of portfolio
  • Generate reports and forecast for order-intake in defines area with active use and discipline in maintaining CRM
  • Overall customer satisfaction
  • Update and follow up feedback from customers in defines area
  • Active use of available sales tools
  • Build up and develop the relationship with customers in defined area, including ship owners, ship brokers, ship designers, OEM, Navy, shipyards ,Identify and develop relationships with potential & existing customers.
  • Actively engage other (global) functions and team members to capture opportunities.
  • Ensure a smooth transfer of contracted opportunities into orders
  • Ensure quality of contracts and in line with Wartsila policies.
  • Customer communication and support for running projects in cooperation with Sales Supporting Team
  • Identify, report and manage potential risks detected in the assigned projects.
  • Business intelligence and knowledge for the Area
  • To support After Sales teams in SU units in order to grow the Spare Parts sales, upgrades & retrofits for all Wartsila products
  • Support all product factories to capture monthly OI forecast

 

Requirements

  • Advanced experience in Marine Industry
  • Ability to work in multicultural / international business environment
  • Self-driven and self-motivating

  • Willing to travel intensively domestically to meet customers
  • Proficient negotiation skills
  • Customer orientation
  • Wartsila product & system knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of Marine Industry
  • Familiar with using of Microsoft WORD/ EXCEL/ PPT/ CRM / AUTOCAD / SAP
  • Bilingual in English & Japanese

 

Experience

 Sales and marketing experience, at least 5 years sales experience in Marine or Heavy Machinery Industry with 2 years in an international company
