In this position you will become part of Wärtsilä Shaft Line Repair Services (SLRS), the organisation responsible for services delivered by Wärtsilä Shaft Line Solutions (SLS). A growing organisation within SLS and critical to strategy, SLRS includes over 120 dedicated professionals located all around the world.
Priorities in SLRS are to stay safe, keep customers happy and to have fun.


SLRS are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer who is ready to travel the world in order to deliver a wide range of services on an extensive range of products; supporting a global install base of over 30,000 vessels. You will be located in one of the FS hub Japan and will be part of a team responsible for SLS Field Service in East Asia & Australasia.

 

Your main responsibilities are:
• Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan.
• Perform overhauls and repairs on assemblies on site and/or in workshops.
• Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.
• Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
• Create the Service Work Reports.
• Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
• Ensure that the work is executed according to QSHE guidelines and site procedures and policies.
• Follow-up and report on the status of work orders to customer and/or internal stakeholders.
• Continuously seek for solutions in according to best practises.

 

Main requirements in this role are:
• A safety first mind-set.
• You are passionate about developing SLS E2E-business to the next level.
• Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and experience.
• Technical experience in marine engineering with practical problem solving skills.
• Proven experience of installation operation, maintenance and repair.
• Highly effective technical communication skills, both written and verbal
• Interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution.
• Experience in propulsion shaft alignment and vibrations beneficial.
• Experience of working with electrical systems beneficial.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
• Fluent in English with relevant additional language skills beneficial.
• You are located in one of the FS Hub city in Japan and willing and able to travel.

 

In this role, your success will be measured by
• Order-intake, net sales and EBIT for SLS.
• KPIs set by FS Manager and FS Area Manage.
