Welcome to Wärtsilä Netherlands! For our Quantiserv workshop in Kruiningen, we are looking for an All-Round Conventional Machinist to strengthen our team in Kruiningen. 

 

As an All-Round Machinist, your tasks will include machining, deburring/finishing, boring, drilling, tapping—essentially all aspects of conventional metalworking. On a typical day, you may work on one or more pieces. While the job requires a high degree of independence, you will not be working alone; you will receive support from your supervisor and teammates. 

To be the best match for this role, we expect you to have a solid understanding of production standards and experience working with various metalworking machines. The ideal candidate will have experience in other production environments and knowledge of production processes. To succeed in this role, we hope you have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. 

 

As a Machinist, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Setting up and basic maintenance of machining equipment 

  • Machining components according to specifications 

  • Setting up tools and fixtures 

  • Using measuring equipment 

  • Performing quality control on your work 

  • Operating technical machines (e.g., column drills, hand tools, band saws, etc.) 

  • Deburring 

  • Operating overhead cranes 

  • Continuously improving processes and procedures 

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

  • Experience or basic knowledge of metalworking techniques (machining) 

  • Willingness to assist in other component overhaul departments 

  • Experience working with technical drawings 

  • Experience operating a conventional lathe 

  • Entry-level candidates or those switching careers are also warmly welcome
