Our company performs repair and remanufacturing of marine engines parts, the CO2 footprint of our processes being 6 to 7 time lower than the CO2 footprint of a new part.
As All-Round Welder, your work will consist of welding and assembling metal parts according to specifications and drawings. You don't work alone - even though the work requires a high degree of independence, you receive support from your team leader and your teammates. To succeed in this position, you have a good attitude and willingness to learn.
Candidates
For the more experienced we expect you to have a good understanding of welding and welding standards; you have gained experience in other production environments and have knowledge of production processes. You are a qualified welder (certification renewal can also be obtained internally), familiar with various welding techniques (MIG/MAG, TIG, electrode) and able to read and interpret technical drawings. Affinity with welding robots and/or willing to learn programming robots is a big plus.
For the less experienced or starter we can start a special program consisting of in the first year of this training course you will learn basic metal skills, basic construction, basic welding and subjects such as materials theory, reading drawings. You learn to prepare your machine and material for production. You will learn to perform different welding positions with different weld seam shapes. You will learn when and how often and with what you can carry out checks. Willing to learn programming welding robots is a big plus; training is performed in our company and increasing the chances for further self-development. Work-based learning: You work 4 days in a recognized training company (including 1 day at Trade centre) where you also get time to work on your school assignments under the guidance of a practical trainer and you receive 1 day of theory.
All-Round Welder main responsibilities:
- Carrying out welding work according to specifications and drawings
- Checking the quality of the welded connections
- Collaborate with colleagues to complete projects on time
- Setting up and checking welding robot
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with safety regulations
- Flexible and willing to work shifts if necessary
