HSE & Admin Officer

We are seeking a proactive and safety-focused HSE & Admin Officer to support our power plant operations in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.


This role combines responsibility for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with HSE standards, and managing site administration, logistics coordination, contractor services, and employee support activities.


The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-organized work environment.



Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Implement and monitor compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety trainings, toolbox talks, drills, inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Manage Permit-to-Work processes and ensure safe working practices.
  • Lead incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Maintain emergency response, firefighting, and spill prevention plans.
  • Facilitate safety committee meetings and promote continuous HSE improvement initiatives.

 

Administration & Logistics

  • Coordinate day-to-day site administrative activities and employee support processes.
  • Manage attendance, overtime records, travel arrangements, visas, and permits.
  • Liaise with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and spare parts.
  • Coordinate outsourced service providers, including security, housekeeping, catering, and transport services.
  • Support invoice verification, vendor performance reviews, and cost control initiatives. 
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and support operational efficiency across the site.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in HSE and/or site administration roles.
  • NEBOSH Certification required.
  • Knowledge of HSE management systems, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Experience with logistics coordination and contractor management.
  • Knowledge of SAP and supply chain processes is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
