We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager – O&M  for our power plant in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria, for a unique leadership opportunity responsible for the overall management of Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Site

Administration.

 

The Plant Manager will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance, drive customer satisfaction, manage costs, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while overseeing a multidisciplinary team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Shall be the Plant O&M Manager on site reporting to Agreement manager (Remote)
  • Overall responsibility for plant operations and reporting team in executing all Plant operation related activities.
  • Overall responsibility for Plant maintenance and reporting team in executing all plant maintenance related activities.
  • Overall responsibility for all plant admin related activities
  • Overall responsibility for customer satisfaction. shall Identify, develop, and report business opportunities looking for areas of continuous improvement to plant performance aligned to customer needs.
  • Plant performance & KPI's according to agreement
  • Direct Costs estimations, control, and reporting to the Agreement Management team.
  • Execution of all activities relating to the daily Agreement management at the power plant inclusive of planning and implementation of plant operations & maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with the plant Operations and Maintenance team relative to the condition of the plant equipment and performance and to provide suggestions for improvements.
  • Administration and training for the development of competencies, skills, teamwork, and way of working to ensure highly qualified and motivated personnel to assure good teamwork.
  • Responsible for the implementation of plant safety policy following standard operations procedures and global Agreement management processes.
  • Establish and implement standard Wärtsilä Services procedures and Agreement Management process according to the Wärtsilä Code of Conduct.
  • Prepare operational plans, budgets, and financial reports, as instructed by the Agreement Manager
  • Optimizes inventory management for maintenance parts and supplies to support ongoing and future maintenance activities.
  • Identify and actively seek to improve operational & maintenance reliability and availability 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Power Engineering, or a related discipline. 
  • Master's Degree or MBA is an advantage.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in power plant Operations & Maintenance. 
  • At least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role within power generation. 
  • Experience in Multi-Engine Wartsila Gas / HFO Engine Plant in a managerial capacity is a must have. 

 

Key Requirements

  • Sound financial and commercial acumen with budget management experience is a must have.
  • Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management capabilities is a must have.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proven expertise in power plant operations, maintenance, and asset reliability.
  • Excellent knowledge of HSE and operational best practices.
  • Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
