Construction Manager

Main Responsibilities:
- Construction Manager is responsible for managing the site activities and leading staff at site. Construction Manager is accountable for the customer relationship management at site. The main responsibilities are listed below but not limited to these only.
- Planning site activities
- Leadership and Customer
- Engage and align with the project team, set the grounds for collaborative way of working within the project
- Define together common rules and way of working within the project and site team
- Discuss Customer background and expectations with project team
- Start the connection with customer and agree the main things needed to start the site works
- Start the connection with subcontractors and agree collaboration grounds
- Site Management and Administration
- Review sales contract and extract execution requirements
- Participate in subcontracting process
- Participate in project scheduling
- Participate in planning project communication practices
- Prepare site mobilization and execution plan in collaboration with project team
- Participate in site resource planning with project team
- Plan site bookkeeping, site cash management and local purchasing processes with related stakeholders
- Plan site material and local services sourcing
- Prepare site budgeting and start cash flow planning
- Prepare conditions for site work planning applying Last Planner System in construction and commissioning phases
- Execution
- Leadership and Customer
- Engage and communicate with customer
- Establish and maintain customer and subcontractor relationships and communication
- Lead site team and manage activities; assign site management function responsibilities to section and commissioning managers
- Create and maintain open feedback and learning culture at site
- Ensure sufficient working facilities at sites
Site Management and Administration
- Ensure that site related contract requirements are implemented
- Ensure that Wärtsilä guidelines, local laws and regulations are understood and followed
- Manage contractual change and claim processes (customer and subcontracts)
- Manage subcontractors and service providers and their scope
- Manage site work planning according to contractual requirements and project master schedule
- Establish and maintain site reporting and communication practices according to contractual and Wärtsilä requirements
- Ensure timely site resourcing
- Establish and maintain Wärtsilä site QHSE management systems
- Plan and manage local site budgeting
- Manage local purchasing and site bookkeeping processes
- Facilitate and ensure the use of Last Planner System and site execution schedule
- Handing over
- Leadership and Customer
- Collect lessons learned and organize a feedback event with site personnel and project team after closing the project
- Arrange a feedback session with customer together with project team
- Arrange a feedback session with main subcontractors
- Feedback of site team members performance
- Celebrate project completion
Site Management and Administration
- Ensure that contractual requirements related to Customer and subcontracts are fulfilled and plant is handed over to the customer
- Ensure that punch list activities are planned, recorded, agreed and closed with stakeholders
- Ensure that all contractual and other activities related to site are closed
- Close site bookkeeping
- Manage site demobilization activities
- Prepare final site report
- Participate in warranty kick of meeting together with project team
- Support in successful transfer to life cycle services
Requirements:
- Job Location : Lahore/Karachi Pakistan
- Educational Requirement: BE/BSc Electrical /Mechanical degree
- Experience : Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in similar capacity.
- Prior experience of Wartsila Duel Fuel engine is an advantage.
- Understanding of workplace safety.
