Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager 

 

to join our team. 

 

The preferred location for the position is in Leicester (United Kingdom).

 

What you will be doing  

 

The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving the growth of our business by identifying new market opportunities within the marine industry, understanding the voice of the customer, and helping to increase our revenue over the next couple of years. 

 

As Business Development Manager your work will focus on these responsibilities:  

 

  • Market Research and Analysis
    • Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities and emerging trends within the maritime industry.
  • Voice of the Customer
    •  Engage with customers to gather feedback, understand their needs, and ensure our products and services meet their expectations.
  • Business Strategy Development
    • ​​​​​​​Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve revenue growth targets.
  • Partnerships and Alliances
    • ​​​​​​​Identify and establish strategic partnerships and alliances to expand our market presence and enhance our product offerings.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth
    • ​​​​​​​Drive sales initiatives and work closely with the sales manager to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Product Development Input
    • Collaborate with the product development team to provide customer insights and market requirements for new product development.
  • Networking and Relationship Building
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, industry partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Monitor and report on business development activities, market trends, and competitive landscape to senior management.

 
To be successful in this role we expect you to have:  

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing - maritime industry is strongly desirable.
  • Strong general technical knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse market data and develop strategic business plans.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel as required. 

 

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 40%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
