Wärtsilä’s Water and Waste business line (WAW) is at the core of Wärtsilä’s smart marine strategy and fuelling the company purpose by providing state-of-art technology to marine customers, who need to have their vessels operated beyond compliance. WAW is supplying the customer advanced waste management solutions to secure maximized energy efficiency and minimised discharge impact. Additionally, WAW is the market leader in fresh water generation systems for cruise vessels.


Working with the GM Quality, Environment, Health and Safety (QEHS) Water and Waste, the QEHS administrator will actively support the ongoing development and maintenance of our quality management systems as well as providing support/analysis/reporting in our processes across the business.  


The successful candidate will be based out of our office in Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom.


What are your main tasks and responsibilities?


  • Collation and extraction of QEHS data for analysis and trending – WeCare, Power BI, Qlikview, CRM, Salesforce
  • Document and Record Control in accordance with legal (GDPR) – ISO document management
  • Assist with legal QEHS compliance as needed in Water and Waste business line
  • Procedural and Contractual requirements (e.g. investigations)
  • Compilation of monthly and quarterly reports, communications and campaign material
  • Circulation of approved QEHS communications on SharePoint QEHS site
  • Maintenance of COSHH info on NEMS
  • Tracking of actions, proactive close out of actions raised from audits, inspections, accident investigations etc.
  • Investigation of Accidents/Incidents/Near Misses and Close Call events
  • Maintenance of QEHS Systems, audit plans, Objective and Target and ensure close out.
  • Assisting with external audits
  • Follow up on actions in WeCare, audit findings etc.
  • Minute taking of health and safety committee meetings and other meetings
  • Liaising with external companies regarding audits etc.
  • Co-ordination and control of training and awareness as part of the QEHS training programme.
  • Preparation of regular performance and statistical reports as necessary.
  • Maintain audit and site visit schedules.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Analytical mind-set with a positive service-orientated attitude.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced level reporting, formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s etc.).
  • Good English language skills
