Join our Service team as a Service Technician and get hands-on experience on E&A systems and on 4-stroke Engines and Dual Fuel Engines. Your role and responsibilities
In this position, your work will include E&A systems on engines. You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independency, as you will have the support from E&A Superintendent Engineers and colleagues.
As an ideal candidate, you have gained technical experience from your technical education, which forms a solid foundation for understanding and working with complex E&A systems. Additionally, having a background in mechanical engineering from your studies would be highly beneficial, as it will further enhance your ability to navigate the multidisciplinary challenges associated with electrical and automation systems on engines.
As a Service Technician E&A, your work will focus on the following responsibilities:
- Support engineers in the installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of electrical and automation systems.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Handle tasks related to Wind Energy Conversion Systems (WECS), Wärtsilä UNIC control systems, PLC, and inverters, including installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Perform programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation and control systems specific to LNG carriers, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Identify and resolve issues in electrical and automation systems, including fault analysis and root cause identification, to minimize downtime.
- Travel nationally or internationally up to 80% of the time to provide onsite support on shipyards.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Technical education background (e.g., technical education institute – TEI – or equivalent).
- A strong willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Manual skills and a positive attitude towards hands-on work.
- Willing to travel, up to 75-80% of the working days.
- Good English knowledge.
- Good knowledge of basic computer tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Basic theoretical knowledge of Electrical and Automation systems and general knowledge of 4-stroke engines are highly welcomed.
- The ability to write clear and concise technical reports.
- A mindset focused on Safety and Quality in all tasks.
- A collaborative attitude to work effectively in a team environment.
- Completion of mandatory military service (applicable for candidates from Greece).
The location for the position is Greece (Attika area) and speaking in GREEK is mandatory.
