Wärtsilä France is seeking a Service Engineer 4-stroke (H/F) to join our Field Service Marine team.

In this role, you will work on-site with customers around the world, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of Wärtsilä engine installations.

While the primary location for this role is Marseille, we are also open to considering candidates based in other locations such as Nantes or Harfleur.

 

Your role and responsibilities  

 

As a Service Engineer 4-stroke, you will:

  • Execute and oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks, either independently or as part of a team of Wärtsilä 4-stroke engines.
  • Lead service technicians during on-site operations, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with technical procedures.
  • Provide detailed work reports, including measurements, photos, and progress updates.
  • Represent Wärtsilä professionally, maintaining high standards of conduct and readiness to travel on short notice.

 

Requirements for the position   

  • BTS (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) or ENSM (École Nationale Supérieure Maritime) diploma or an equivalent qualification in mechanics or engineering. 
  • Solid knowledge of internal combustion engines (4-stroke).
  • Basic understanding of automation systems.
  • Proficiency in IT tools, including MS Office.
  • Good English skills for technical communication.
  • Ability to work onboard vessels and adapt to diverse environments, with a willingness to travel globally (approximately 85% of the time).

Votre rôle

 

En tant que Service Engineer, vous serez chargé de :

  • Réaliser et superviser les travaux de maintenance, de dépannage et de réparation, seul ou en équipe.
  • Encadrer des techniciens de service sur site, en veillant à la qualité, à la sécurité et au respect des procédures techniques.
  • Rédiger des rapports détaillés sur les interventions (mesures, photos, méthodes de travail, etc.) et assurer le suivi des travaux.
  • Représenter Wärtsilä de manière professionnelle, en maintenant des standards élevés de conduite et une disponibilité pour des déplacements à court préavis.

 

Profil recherché :

  • BTS (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) ou diplôme de l'ENSM (École Nationale Supérieure Maritime) ou une qualification équivalente en mécanique ou en ingénierie.
  • Solides connaissances des moteurs à combustion interne (4 temps et 2 temps).
  • Compréhension de base des systèmes électriques et de l'automatisation.
  • Maîtrise des outils informatiques, y compris la suite MS Office.
  • Bon niveau d'anglais pour la communication technique.
  • Capacité à travailler à bord des navires et à s'adapter à des environnements variés, avec une volonté de voyager à l'échelle mondiale (environ 85 % du temps).

  • Une expérience préalable dans l'industrie (réglage, développement ou maintenance de moteurs) est un atout.
