We are looking for a Service Engineer E&A (H/F) to join our Electrical & Automation Field Services Resources team. 

While the primary location for this role is Marseille, we are also open to considering candidates based in other locations such as Nantes or Harfleur.

 

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Service Engineer E&A, your work will include the following tasks:

  • Fieldwork on electrical and automation systems (commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting).
  • Analysis and resolution of complex failures.
  • Team coordination and communication with clients.
  • Ensuring compliance with QHSE regulations.
  • Preparing technical and travel reports in English.
  • Conducting site audits, providing commercial support, and promoting Wärtsilä solutions.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice for up to 80% of the time, including internationally and onboard vessels.

 

The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as part of a team with diverse expertise.

 

Requirements for the Position

  • A BS degree in marine engineering, electrical, or electronic fields, or a diploma from ENSM (École Nationale Supérieure Maritime), is preferred. 
  • Strong background in automation, electrotechnology, and mechanical skills or knowledge, along with practical experience in these areas, is highly valued and considered essential for success in this position.
  • Technical knowledge in electrical and automation systems, communication networks, interfaces, sensors, actuators, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Experience in automation or as an engine room marine engineer is a plus.
  • Skills in PLC programming, SCADA systems, diesel engines, hybrid systems, and variable speed drives.
  • Proficiency in electrical systems, automation, and IT tools (MS Office).
  • Availability to travel 60% of the time, including internationally and onboard vessels.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English.
  • Strong communication skills, a teamwork-oriented mindset, and motivation to learn and grow.

Exigences pour le poste

  • Un diplôme de niveau licence (BS) en génie maritime, électrique ou électronique, ou un diplôme de l'ENSM (École Nationale Supérieure Maritime), est souhaité.
  • Une solide expérience en automatisation, en électrotechnique et des compétences ou connaissances en mécanique, ainsi qu'une expérience pratique dans ces domaines, est fortement valorisée et considérée comme essentielle pour réussir dans ce poste.
  • Des connaissances techniques en systèmes électriques et d'automatisation, réseaux de communication, interfaces, capteurs, actionneurs et équipements auxiliaires.
  • Une expérience en automatisation ou en tant que marin en salle des machines serait un atout.
  • Des compétences en programmation d’automates (PLC), systèmes SCADA, moteurs diesel, systèmes hybrides et variateurs de vitesse.
  • Maîtrise des systèmes électriques, de l’automatisation, et des outils informatiques (MS Office).
  • Disponibilité pour voyager 60 % du temps, y compris à l’international et à bord de navires.
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, à l’oral et à l’écrit.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication, esprit d’équipe, et motivation pour apprendre et évoluer.
