We are looking for a Superintendent/Technical Expert Propulsion Mechanical to join Wärtsilä France in Marseille.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Superintendent / Technical Expert, Propulsion Mechanical, you will deliver expert on-site services for marine mechanical propulsion systems. You will plan and execute field service jobs, perform advanced troubleshooting, lead work fronts at customer sites, and ensure flawless safety, quality, and customer experience. You will also generate high-quality service documentation, mentor colleagues, and proactively identify opportunities to add value to our customers through upgrades, services, and solutions.
As a Superintendent/Technical Expert Propulsion Mechanical you will focus on these responsibilities:

Execute field service tasks according to the agreed work plan and scope.

Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on propulsion mechanical/hydraulic systems.

Lead customer introduction meetings and provide clear progress updates.

Prepare accurate and timely Service Work Reports.

Follow Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.

Identify and communicate additional service opportunities; share knowledge with colleagues.
Requirements for the position
-
Degree, diploma, or vocational qualification in Mechanical or Marine Engineering (or equivalent experience).

3+ years of hands-on field service experience in propulsion or similar mechanical systems.

Strong practical skills in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, precision measurements, and alignment.

Ability to read service manuals/drawings and produce clear technical reports.

Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

Fluent in English.
-
Willing and able to travel internationally on short notice.
