Plant Manager

We are looking for a Plant Manager to join our Power Plant team in Monterrey, Mexico. In this role, you will lead the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of the plant while ensuring strong customer satisfaction and delivery of contractual targets.


 

What you will be doing

As a Plant Manager, you will be accountable for planning, leading, and managing all operation and maintenance (O&M) activities, ensuring the plant meets contractual performance, financial, and safety targets.

 


Your key responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the mobilisation and transition of O&M operations

  • Ensure plant performance and KPI delivery in line with contractual agreements

  • Oversee end-to-end O&M activities, including planning, execution, and continuous improvement

  • Drive operational reliability, availability, and efficiency of the plant

  • Manage contract delivery activities, ensuring compliance with Wärtsilä processes and standards

  • Develop and lead a high-performing, engaged, and safety-driven team

  • Ensure effective communication and alignment across the plant team and stakeholders

  • Implement and maintain Wärtsilä procedures, QEHS standards, and Code of Conduct

  • Monitor performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective and preventive actions

  • Prepare and manage reports, budgets, and operational plans

  • Coordinate local operational support (logistics, resources, and site requirements)

 


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Electronic or related)

    (or equivalent experience managing large operations)

  • Strong experience in power plant operations and maintenance (O&M)

  • Knowledge of plant performance management and KPIs

  • Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams

  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices

  • Familiarity with 4-stroke engines and high/medium voltage systems is a plus

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
