Electrical Engineer (35746)
We require an Electrical Engineer to support our field-based operations.
Our Engineering teams carry out primarily planned maintenance of electrical power and control systems in marine, oil & gas and power generation industries both internationally and offshore. Your location can be flexible and our teams are based across the UK to support our client needs.
What are your main tasks and responsibilities?
- Installation/retrofit,testing & commissioning of electrical power and control systems, to include but not limited to; Switchboards, Power Management Systems, electrical protection, AVR’s, circuit breakers, contactors, generators, motors and transformers.
- To compile detailed technical reports for customers approval.
- Carry out fault finding, troubleshooting, site surveys and prepare detailed work specifications.
- Prepare a list of tools, test equipment and materials needed for work load.
- Liaise with supervisors and / or customer on site to generate enquiries and technical queries.
- Ensure that all activities on-site are carried out in accordance with the site safety rules and in compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety obligations.
- To adopt a pleasant, adaptable attitude when requested to assist Company staff.
What do we expect from you?
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong technical background in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of NVQ or equivalent in relevant field; Preferred HNC/HND or equivalent in relevant field.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills and customer relations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisation skills.
- Current Valid Passport; this position requires the individual to travel all over the world, at short notice.
- With any “ad-hoc” duties that may be required.
This position will require the individual to travel offshore - must be able to pass relevant medicals and be willing to travel offshore by helicopter.
In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties within their capabilities which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity, change the general character or level of responsibility of the post.
