We are now looking for a 

 

NB Sales Manager 

 

to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Athens.

 

As NB Sales Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

Sales & Business development:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for new shipbuilding projects in Greek and Cyrpiot Marine market..
  • Identify and approach potential clients (shipowners, operators, charterers).
  • Identify proactively Business opportunities on the Field of New Buildings 
  • Negotiate contracts with shipyards and customers.
  • Responsible for prospecting (sales funnel & forecast), achieving Sales Targets (Order Intake and building Backlog) in the Greek and Cypriot area for Marine Power Products for NBs. 
  • Work with Sales Colleagues in the Sub-region and the Yard countries (China, Korea) within Marine Power and other Wärtsilä Business Units.


Reporting & Processes:

  • CRM Management skillset.
  • Ensure Customer feedback is channelled through the responsible teams and product lines.
  • Ensure that sales processes are properly followed and compliance to the approval process.


Marketing:

  • Provide market intelligence feedback through the assigned channels.
  • Represent Marine Power at Industry Exhibitions, (Partner) conferences and potentially be a speaker.
  • Fully support the Marketing & Communications activities

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

 

A New Building Sales Manager in WARTSILA  requires a mix of technical, commercial, and interpersonal skills to successfully sell and promote a wide range of vessels  power equipment and machinery. Key skills required:

 

Sales & Negotiation Skills

  • Strong sales experience, especially in shipbuilding or maritime industries.
  • Persuasive communication to close deals effectively.
  • Experience in handling multiple opportunities  simultaneously

 

Maritime & Shipbuilding Knowledge

  • Good knowledge  of  vessels’ power production equipment and systems 
  • Understanding of ship types, designs, and classifications (e.g., Ferries, Gas Tankers,  bulk carriers, Tankers, Off-shore vessels,..).
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding processes, technical specifications, and compliance regulations (Fuel EU, EU-ETS, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret ship drawings and technical specifications.

 

Market & Industry Awareness

  • Knowledge of global shipping trends, fleet demands, and regulations.
  • Awareness of major customers in Grece and Cyprus, active in NB sector as also with shipbuilders and competitors.
  • Understanding of shipping economics (chartering, financing, cost structures).


In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers or participate on global shipping events/exhibitions etc., thus  we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 10%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
