We are looking for a Senior Sales Proposals Engineer with the main responsibility of managing and developing sales proposals for the 4-Stroke business.
The preferred location for this position is in Moschato (Greece), but also Limassol (Cyprus) can be considered. This is a hybrid job, offering both remote working and in-office options.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior Sales Proposals Engineer, you will focus on these responsibilities:
- Own, manage, and develop assigned Field Service opportunities, leading opportunity-specific sales activities related to the 4-Stroke business.
- Manage and coordinate the creation of 4-Stroke proposals with internal and external stakeholders, identifying, proposing, and promoting solutions to customers in collaboration with local sales and global 4-Stroke Service functions.
- Analyze regional markets and customer needs, providing feedback to the global team.
- Create high-quality sales proposals for Parts, Field Service, and package solutions addressing customer needs and maximizing our value propositions, including documentation such as commercial propositions, margin calculations, technical scope, description of scope, responsibility matrices, and contract documentation.
- Collaborate with the global 4-Stroke & Other OEM Service Sales Support & Development team for growth areas.
- Increase awareness of our 4-Stroke Services offerings with customers and within the company, especially with Account Managers or Sales Champions.
- Monitor and manage personal performance.
- Tailor proposals to local market and cultural requirements.
- Manage stakeholder relations for efficient cooperation and high-quality customer service.
- Maintain knowledge of products, offerings, customer operations, guidelines, procedures, markets, and regulations.
- Evaluate orders against offered scope for efficient order handling.
- Lead the handover process of assigned cases with the delivery organization.
- Use CRM & SAP tools to prepare proposals.
- Evaluate upsell, upgrade, and update sales potential systematically.
Requirements for the position
- Technical MSc or equivalent education.
- Extensive experience in structured organizations, particularly in 4-Stroke Marine Business.
- Familiarity with Wärtsilä products and solutions is beneficial.
- Sales and/or Technical Support experience is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM (Salesforce).
- Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of regional market and cultural diversity.
- Strong abilities in negotiation, communication, mentoring, and relationship-building.
Development Plan for the Role:
- Participate actively in the adoption of global procedures, tools, directives, concepts, and WoW.
- Develop and structure Technical Sales for 4-Stroke activities in the sub-Region, cross-Countries, and cross-Regions.
