We are looking for a Sales Manager at Wärtsilä Exhaust Treatment. The preferred location for this position is Moss, Norway but also Vaasa, Finland is a potential location.
This position will play an instrumental role in developing the market for Carbon capture & storage technology and maintaining our market-leading position in exhaust gas treatment solutions for ships.
Your role and responsibilities
As Sales Manager, your work will focus on ensuring that we identify and pursue relevant opportunities in your territory, leading the sales activities, and closing the contracts with new and existing clients, globally. You will be reporting to Sales Director, Exhaust Treatment.
For you to succeed in the position, you should understand the dynamics and challenging nature of shipping and be curious by nature.
As a Sales Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and manage existing and new customer relationships in the territory.
- Lead entire sales projects and negotiate contracts technically and commercially for Newbuilds, Retrofits, and Upgrades in your assigned territory.
- Deliver Net Sales, Margin, and other relevant metrics in the territory.
- Organize and participate in relevant sales meetings with customers.
- Collect and communicate market intelligence and competitor information in dedicated territory.
- Ensure that customer inquiries and orders are responded to in a prompt and professional manner.
- Responsible for organizing an efficient and good transfer of all sales projects from sales to project department.
- Manage relationships and cooperation with the Wärtsilä sales network and agents (where applicable).
To be successful in this role, we expect you are/have:
- Ideally experience in technical sales, preferably of marine products. However, we will consider new graduates and applicants with no prior sales experience as well.
- Negotiation skills, both technically and commercially, and ability to close deals.
- Cultural knowledge and capability to bridge the gaps between different cultures.
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
- Eager for close collaboration with teams across business functions – as well as with internal stakeholders across the globe.
- Customer-centric mindset and experience from customer interface related activities.
- Presentation skills, and an ability to adapt the messaging to the audience.
- A team player with a can-do attitude.
- B.Sc/M.Sc in a relevant technical discipline.
