Senior Automation Software Engineer

Wärtsilä's Exhaust Treatment business unit in Moss, Norway, is at the forefront of manufacturing exhaust gas abatement solutions for the international commercial shipping market. We are proud to offer industry-leading technology for onboard carbon capture and storage (CCS), a technology we currently are piloting and intend to launch within a year

Join us in maintaining and developing our market-leading position in the Decarbonisation and Exhaust Gas Treatment. We now have an opening for a Senior Automation Software Engineer, to be based in Moss, Norway.
 

What you will be doing

As Senior Software Automation Engineer, you will be part of a highly motivated multidiscipline organization providing engineering for our Exhaust Treatment technologies, covering both new-build and upgrade projects.

 

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Develop, program, and deliver software for exhaust treatment system, sub-components, and equipment
  • Support Life Cycle Sales with system maintenance and upgrades
  • Contribute to development of our Remote Service technology offering
     

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • BSc and/or MSc degree within electrical automation or cybernetics
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with programming and developing within PLC and HMI
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral. Fluency is Norwegian is an advantage
  • Can-do attitude, and problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge about the maritime industry is preferred
     

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 0-10%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
